Weddings

1. BANNS FOR WEDDING IN ITALY 

Italian citizens registered in our Consular Registry (AIRE) wishing to get married in Italy are required to apply for Marriage Banns by posting to our Embassy (PO Box 463, Wellington 6140) the following documentation:

1. Banns Request signed in front of a JP (Justice of the Peace)
2. Proof of payment (screenshot of your bank account) of the current Banns pubblication fee (click here for current fee and bank transfer details);
3. Passport copies of both spouses;
4. Only if one of the spouses is not an Italian citizen, copy of the “Certificate of no impediment” (for the non Italian citizen only) issued by the NZ Department of Internal Affairs 

Marriage Banns are valid for 6 months. We recommend to apply about 3 months before the intended date of marriage.

Italian citizens residing in Italy or in another consular jurisdiction are required to apply for Marriage Banns to their Comune/Consulate of residence.
