AIRE registration is compulsory and is the pre-requisite for selected consular services.

WHO IS REQUIRED TO REGISTER IN OUR AIRE?
•Italian citizens who relocate to New Zealand for periods over 12 months or with the perspective to stay in NZ over 12 months (holder of a NZ visa with a validity over 12 months; applications from Italian citizens holding consecutive visas each one with a validity not longer than 12 months will be assessed on a case-by-case basis);
•Italian citizens born in New Zealand or that have been granted Italian citizenship in New Zealand;
•Italian citizens who relocate to New Zealand from another country other than Italy (even if they were already AIRE registered) are required to re-apply for AIRE registration to our Embassy;
Who is not required to register in AIRE:
•Italian citizens who relocates to New Zealand for periods under 12 months;
•Italian citizens holders of ”working holiday visa” or other visa with a validity not longer than 12 months.
HOW TO REGISTER IN AIRE?
If you relocate to New Zealand please use the online procedure FAST IT (please always attach a copy of your NZ visa to your AIRE application)
Before sending your application through FAST IT, you need to upload the following documents:
- application form downloaded from FAST IT duly signed;
- electronic copy of your Passport or other valid ID;
- proof of residence in New Zealand (i.e. bank statement, utility bill, lease);
- electronic copy of the NZ visa (or NZ Passport if double citizens).
Please note that every family member (of Italian citizenship) above the age of 18 is required to send a separate AIRE application. Minor children must be included in the application of one of their parents.
It is compulsory to notify the Embassy of any modication of your residence.
If you reside in New Zealand please notify your change of address via the online procedure FAST IT.
