The Embassy of Italy in Wellington is competent for visa applications in New Zealand, the territories of Pitcairn and Tokelau and the following Countries: Cook Islands, Kiribas, Niue, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu.
Based on the 1961 Bilateral Agreement, New Zealand citizens DO NOT require a visa for short tourist or business stays in Italy up to 90 days. The same applies to cirizens of Pitcairn (UK) and Tokelau and the citizens of the following countries: Cook Islands, Kiribas, Niue, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu.

Visa applications must be lodged electronically on the portal Prenot@mi and, following the appontement definition, all the relevant documentation must be sent electronically to wellington.cons3@esteri.it.
The collection of biometrical data, and the original documentation, takes place in the Emassy situated in 34-38 Grant Road, Thorndon, Wellington 6011, NZ. The Consular Section is open to the public, upon appointment, from Monday to Friday from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and on Wednesday from 2 PM to 3 PM.
