Ambassador of Italy in New Zealand


“I am honored to take on the role of Ambassador of Italy in New Zealand, a country of great importance in the Indo-Pacific, a region of strategic significance politically, economically, and technologically.

I will work to further strengthen the cooperation and friendship between Rome and Wellington, which this year celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Born in Noci, Bari (Italy) on 20/12/1962.

  • 1987: graduates from the University of Florence, degree in political science.
  • 1989: joins the Italian Diplomatic Service and is assigned to the Directorate General for Economic Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Appointed Second Secretary.
  • 1993: First Secretary (Economy and Trade) in Tel Aviv (Israel).
  • 1997: First Secretary for Social Affairs in Bonn (Germany).
  • 1999: confirmed in Bonn and subsequently in Berlin (Germany) as Counselor for Emigration and Social affairs.
  • 2001: returns to Rome and serve as Chief of Staff of the Director General for Italians Abroad and Migration Policies.
  • 2004: promoted First Counselor.
  • 2006: Consul General in Huston (USA).
  • 2009: First Counselor for Emigration and Social Affairs in Washington (USA).
  • 2011: appointed Minister Plenipotentiary.
  • 2013: returns to Rome and serves as Head of the Communication and Evaluation Office of the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation.
  • 2017: Ambassador of Italy to Malaysia.
  • 2021: Diplomatic Advisor to the Mayor of Florence (Italy).
  • 2024: back to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Protocol Department.

In 2006 receives the Knighthood of the Order of Merit of the Republic.

Married, no children.
