Cost for a visa and how to pay

The visa fee is based on the “Quarterly Consular Exchange Rate” and changes at the beginning of each quarter (January 1, April 1, July 1, October 1).

For Schengen Visas (Type “C”), payment is made  in NZ Dollars based on the table of consular feees.

Adults: 90 euro

Minors between 6 and 12 years of age: 45 euro

For National Visas (Type “D”), payment is made  in NZ Dollars based on the table of consular feees.

For National Visas (Type “D”): 116 euro / National Visas for Study Purposes (Type “D”): 50 euro

 

Cases where the visa application fee can be reinbursed: the consulate is not competent or the application is inadmissible, as per article 18, paragraph 2, and article 19, paragraph 3 of the “Visa Code”, Regulation EC 810/2009.

 

Family members of Italian citizens and EU/EES or Swiss citizens, benefit of the exemption from the payment of the consular fee if they fall within one of the following cathegories:

  1. Spouses, if not legally separated and not under 18 years of age;
  2. Civil partners;
  3. Children under 21 years of age (on application submission), including children of the spouse and children born out of wedlock, provided that, for children under 18 years of age, the other parent (if there is another parent), has given his/her consent;
  4. Children older than 21 years old if they are unable to support their indispensable necessities of life because of their health conditions entailing total disability (this must be proven);
  5. Financially dependent parents, whose socio-economic situation and/or serious health conditions and/or disability must be supported by adequate evidence.
