BANNS FOR\u00a0WEDDING IN ITALY\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n Italian citizens<\/strong>\u00a0registered in our Consular Registry (AIRE) wishing to get married in Italy\u00a0are required to apply for Marriage Banns by posting\u00a0to our Embassy\u00a0(PO Box 463, Wellington 6140) the following documentation:<\/p>\n 1.\u00a0Banns Request signed in front of a JP (Justice of the Peace)<\/a> Marriage Banns are valid for 6 months. We recommend to apply about 3 months before the intended date of marriage.<\/p>\n Italian citizens residing in Italy or in another consular jurisdiction are required\u00a0to apply for Marriage Banns to their Comune\/Consulate of residence.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n 2. \n4. Only if one of the spouses is not an Italian citizen, copy of the \u201cCertificate of no impediment\u201d\u00a0(for the non Italian citizen only) issued by the\u00a0NZ Department of Internal Affairs\u00a0 <\/a><\/p>\n
