PRENOT@MI (Visa appointment booking procedure for Schengen Visas and National Visas)

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Biometrics requirements for national Visas from 11 January 2025

Visa applicants are hereby notified that, following the entry into force of Decree-Law 145/2024, as of 11 January 2025, it will be mandatory to collect the fingerprints of applicants also for all national entry visas (type D). Applicants will therefore be required to request an appointment (using the PRENOT@MI application available on our website under Visas) and appear in person at the Consulate when submitting their visa application. The procedures for acquisition and any exceptions are the same as those currently in place for short-stay visas (Art. 13 of the Visa Code).

To all applicants:

Before booking an appointment, please check thoroughly the Visa pages for the relevant necessary documentation and deadlines.

We recommend trying to book your appointment at least three months in advance, as applications ‘on average’ require up to 3 months to finalise, starting from receipt of the appointment confirmation via email.
