The Embassy of Italy in Wellington is pleased to inform the public of a musical event organised by the Italian Comites in collaboration with the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts.
On Saturday, 7 March 2026 at 7:00 pm, Italian–New Zealand pianist Flavio Villani will present Memoria: Echoes & Transformations, a concert programme centred on the theme of memory and its emotional resonance through music.
The recital combines major works of the European piano repertoire — including Bach–Busoni’s Chaconne, Brahms’ Rhapsody Op. 79 No. 1 and Franck’s Prélude, Choral et Fugue — with the pianist’s own composition, the In Memoriam Suite, written during a period of personal reflection. The programme also features Brahms’ Intermezzi Op. 117.
The initiative contributes to promoting Italian cultural expression in New Zealand and to strengthening ties between the Italian community and local cultural institutions.
