The Embassy of Italy in Wellington has initiated a selection procedure aimed at the appointment of an Honorary Consul in the city of Auckland. The objective is to maintain and strengthen the institutional presence, continue the provision of services to citizens, and promote economic, cultural and social relations with New Zealand.
The honorary consular officer is required to reside in the territory where the Honorary Office will be established, which must also constitute his or her principal centre of interests. The candidate is chosen “among persons, preferably of Italian citizenship, who enjoy esteem and prestige and who can be fully relied upon to adequately perform consular functions” (Article 47, paragraph 1, of Presidential Decree No. 18 of 5 January 1967).
The appointment is exclusively honorary in nature and does not provide for any form of remuneration; any contributions granted by the State cannot be considered salary.
Applications must be submitted in accordance with the procedures indicated in the attached document.
