The Bay of Plenty Civil Defence has issued an ORANGE ALERT for possible heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, with a consequent risk of landslides, for areas east of ĹŚpĹŤtiki from 6:00 pm today, 13 February, until midnight on Saturday 14 February, and for areas west of ĹŚpĹŤtiki, including Rotorua, from 12:00 pm today, 13 February, until 12:00 pm on Saturday 14 February.
The Meteorological Service has also indicated the possibility of an upgrade to a Red Alert.
