ITALIAN REGISTRY CERTIFICATIONS / CONSULAR DECLARATIONS

Italian official registry certifications as well as residence certifications can only be issued by the Italian municipality (Comune) where the event (births, marriage, death, divorce, official residential address, etc.) was registered or by the municipality where the applicant is officially registered.

Italian nationals registered in our Consular Registry can only apply to our Embassy for Certifications of Single Status and of Italian Citizenship or Declarations of facts resulting from our Consular Registry.

To request a consular declaration/certification please post a written request to the Embassy (PO Box 463, 6140 Wellington), together with a copy of your Italian Passport, a pre-paid self-addressed postal envelope (unless you require an electronic transmission via email) and a Bank cheque made payable to the Embassy of Italy in Wellington for the amount of the consular fee.
